Blacklisting my stolen phone

I had my phone stolen and requested it be blacklisted, however after numerous messages and being passed from pillar to post no one can help. ID mobile have said the device is not connected to the phone however I have only ever used an ID Mobile SIM card in the phone. Where do I go next?!

Perhaps you could file a crime report with the police @Michelle 987

Did you originally purchase the stolen phone from iD Mobile?

Thankyou, yeah I have already done this, however insurance require it to be blacklisted. No I purchased the phone through Very.

Okay @Michelle 987, I guess if it was an iD contract phone within the contract minimum term, you’d have no issues getting it blacklisted by iD.

Didn’t the police ask for the IMEI number of your handset (from Very) @Michelle 987?

The above online consumer advice might help.

Thankyou, appreciate the help. The police did take the IMIE number. I will have a look at the link thankyou.

It might help to register your smartphone at https://www.immobilise.com/register

Once registered, you can immediately report it stolen, and it will then appear on CheckMEND (www.checkmend.com), and the NMPR (https://thenmpr.com).
🤞

Great thanks, just done that. Hopefully I’m covered on most angles just the black listing left.

Your insurance company might now accept your handset is blacklisted, having been reported stolen on immobilse.com.

This stolen phone and its IMEI are now visible on several databases used to determine if a handset is stolen or not.

Hi @Michelle 987

I’m sorry to hear we aren’t able to blacklist the IMEI, where did you contact about this?

Tom

I’ve contacted ID mobile, apple and the police and know one is able to blacklist the phone.

I’m not sure to be honest, just the first team I was able to reach via live chat.  If you can give more assistance that would be great thankyou.

Hi Michelle,  I have the same problem. After a few complaints no one is speaking to me from ID. How was your problem solved? Thanks for help

Hi, unfortunately it hasn’t been. 7 months on I have still be unable to blacklist the phone and claim on the insurance. My case was escalated but no one replies back. Frustrating. Not sure what else to do.

In that case, the only thing left to do is to send an official email and all we have to do is complain to the Ombudsman. This is probably their standard procedure for ignoring clients. I will still contact OFCOM for advice

Hi @Michelle 987 @Cocoroko,

We can check the IMEI for the last 30 days.

If the handset was last more than this timescale it’s likely that we can’t confirm the usage.

Please let us know if you require further assistance and we can help you out.

The phone was bought on contract from ID mobile on 11 December 2023 and used with ID card since 12 December. It was stolen on 20 December. The theft was reported the same day. What does the customer care if the ID has a technical problem. You have not fulfilled your obligations  I would like to see the term&conditions where it is written, for what reasons you cannot block a stolen phone. This is a neglect and you have not fulfilled contract.

Hi @Cocoroko

Okay, if the device was last used 20/12/23 and a proof of usage wasn’t requested within 30 days of that happening, we wouldn’t be able to provide proof of usage, sorry.

If you wish to read the full terms and conditions, please see the below;
