I am going away to America for 3 months on Thursday. Will my 4G work over there with data roaming?? Do I need to do anything before hand??

Should be okay, but I recommend reading this article, which explains what’s required in order to use your phone abroad.
You’ll also need to make sure data roaming is enabled in the settings of your phone itself.

Roaming while in the USA will incur additional costs as any calls, texts and data used will not come out of any inclusive call plan allowance. Calls, texts and data are charged at the following rates:
So, while you can roam in the USA you should be aware that you need to remove any call cap or select the highest available amount if you cannot remove it completely. You’re better off picking up a local pay go SIM card TBH.
