how to transfer photos and contacts from my old phone

My wife upgraded her phone with id mobile activated her new sim card but nothing was transferred over like photos and contacts

Okay @Bobbieboy29, these days photos and contacts are stored in the smartphone itself, not SIM card.

What was your wife’s old handset?
What phone has your wife upgraded to?

Okay @Bobbieboy29, Apple have several procedures for getting photos and contacts from one iPhone to another iPhone.

If you’ve got both iPhones to hand, I’d recommend updating the iOS on the old iPhone 6 first off.

I always use the Apple “Quick Start” process to copy one iPhone to another iPhone. The process is detailed online at https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT210216.

Other ways of doing this are also online, at https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201269.
