Issues after old bumber transferring over

I received my new sim, provided my pac code and received a message to say my old number had successfully transferred across.

However, when I go into settings, Apple Id and select my current phone, the device number shows as the original ID mobile number I was given before it changed to my old one. When I send a text message (not an iMessage) I am getting a delivery failure notification, even though the messages are being received by the recipient.

Please can somebody help me put these things right?

Hey @LillyT, this issue usually resolves itself over time, but if not, could you please try the following? Firstly, power down your phone, remove the SIM and wait for 15 minutes. Power the phone back on and follow the below steps:

  • 1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
  • 2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
  • 3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
  • 4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
  • 5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
  • 6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

 

If that doesn’t fix the issue, I’d recommend contacting the FacebookTwitter or Live Chat teams.
