I have just changed contract and I have no signal at all. I checked the coverage before agreeing to the new contract. 4g was excellent coverage and 5g was good coverage. Has this come about before?

How did you check coverage, @Pete Cumberlidge

Unfortunately, majority of the online coverage checkers only show a theoretical prediction of the mobile signal expected at any given location.

The reality can sometimes be much better, or far worse than predicted.

The https://mastdata.com online site has real-world reception for many locations in the UK.

I checked the coverage with the id mobile coverage checker on their own site. Put in my postcode and it said 4g was excellent and 5g was good.

Unfortunately @Pete Cumberlidge, the iD Mobile online coverage checker only shows a theoretical prediction of the mobile signal at any given location, based on computer models.

The iD Mobile coverage checker displays some caveats in the small-print, below the results:

For actual coverage, the https://mastdata.com site has information for many locations in the UK.

Hi @Pete Cumberlidge

Unfortunately the iD Mobile coverage checker isn’t 100% correct and is based on approximations, all iD Mobile plans have the option to return in their returns period if you find the coverage isn’t right for you.

Please could you let us know the postcode(s) where you’ve had issues?

Tom
