Switch from Vodafone > ID, cannot setup Mobile Network

Hey there, I’ve just moved from Vodafone > ID Mobile and picked up a new iPhone 15 Pro with it.

I issued ID Mobile a PAC code to keep my number from Vodafone. Live chat has confirmed that my PAC switch has been completed.

On my new iPhone, there is no mobile service. If I go into Mobile Service settings, it says ‘Your SIM is not supposed. This phone number can’t be transferred because your account is ineligible’. I think it’s trying to setup an Esim, despite there being a physical ID Mobile SIM in the device.

Please help me!

Have you tried removing the iD SIM card, and then factory resetting your new iPhone 15, @eyephone?

Where you using an eSIM while at Vodafone?

Hey @andewhite, thanks for the reply.

I have tried that. As well as:

  • Removing the SIM and inserting it into another phone (didn’t work)
  • Factory reset and reinserting the SIM into new phone (didn’t work)
  • Airplane on and off with SIM in and out (didn’t work)
  • Resetting network settings with SIM in and out (didn’t work)
  • Cleaning SIM card and tray and trying again (didn’t work)

Live chat suggesting I go to Currys and get a SIM replacement. I’m dubious that I won’t be able to keep the number that has now been switched to the potentially corrupt SIM.

Okay @eyephone, given the SIM doesn’t work in a different handset, it sounds like you might’ve received a faulty iD SIM.

You keep the number linked to your iD account with any replacement iD SIM card.
Replacement cards are not ACTIVE, and need to be activated online.

Does an active, non-iD SIM card, work in your new iPhone?
