Unexpected Rest of World roaming charge whilst in Uganda but with mobile data & roaming SWITCHED OFF

I do not understand why I have been charged £5 for ‘rest of world’ when mobile data and roaming were both switched off.

I have been abroad (Uganda) but have only used free wi-fi whilst away.

I did get two texts while I was away saying that you’d noticed I was overseas and that charges could be expensive.  At that point (15th and 21st September) I double checked to make sure that all settings were correct, and they were.

Why did I get charged?  And what do I have to do to get the charge cancelled?

Thank you.

Okay, did you receive any calls or text messages other than those from iD while you were in Uganda @lcoom?

Have you checked the itemised charges section of your iD bill for the period you were away?

Good luck @lcoom

Thank you @andewhite, you are spot on.  I’d forgotten that my friend couldn’t find her phone so asked me to call it.  I hadn’t realised that the call had connected but apparently it did for a very expensive three seconds.  I will know not to do that again.
