My current plan is with ID mobile and I am travelling to the US next week.
I plan on using an eSim whilst i am there, however i have read online that ID mobile do not support eSims.
Does this just mean that i cannot buy an eSim from ID mobile?
If i buy an eSim via another provider will it work?
My iPhone is unlocked.

As mentioned many times on here iD Mobile do not offer eSIM. You can however use a third party eSIM as a second line on your iPhone.

You may be able to purchase an eSIM from another provider and use it with your device should it be unlocked, however this would be a different phone number to the one with iD Mobile.
