A bit confused as to why I have been charged more than expected.

I don’t understand what the pro-rated calculations have been and was NOT made aware of this when I signed any paperwork.

Hi @sianallen0,

You are charged pro rata on your first bill as you are billed for longer period, as it depends on your billing cycle.

Your bill would usually provide a breakdown on the timescales that you are charged for.

The first bill on an upgrade is always higher no matter what network your with. It’s pro rata billing…

I myself have just upgraded from a £8 per month SIM only plan to a £28.99 handset plan, and my first bill is £44.61. A breakdown of my charges is as follows:

  • £28.99 (month in advance)
  • £15.62 (Pro rata charge). << Amount now due as my plan changed mid month!

Refer to your bill for your breakdown of charges.
