Since we bought my daughter’s Huawei Y7 2019 we cannot get any connectivity with the internet. Mobile data does not seem to work and although it says the phone is connected to our house wifi that doesn’t work either. How do we resolve this?

Did you try all standard troubleshooting steps? I mean like
* Turn your phone off and on
* Backup and erase all data
You can also follow this handy tutorial and see if this will help you.
Usually one of these steps should solve your issue. If it still persist I would recommend to contact Huawei directly as they might cover it under warranty or instruct what to do in this case.
My suspicion is that issue will be with the phone since Mobile Data and WiFi connections are two separate features. I mean, if only Mobile data wouldn't work then we could assume fault with APN settings or SIM card error but because WiFi does not work either it might be system or antenna fault. Let us know if any of the steps above helped you resolve it.
