My temporary Sim number is in Settings-Messages and will not let me change it. Phone calls come through to my old number which is what I want but messages come from the temporary number and no one knows who is texting them!

Changing the “My Number” setting is usually fairly standard. Which iPhone is it you’re using and we’ll see if we can dig out some instructions how to do it for you.
