Hi @Baker999,

We’re sorry to hear this! Sometimes when a number port has taken place, the iPhone’s iMessage service doesn’t fully recognise the change and the feature needs to be updated manually. Please try the below steps and let us know how it goes.

1)    Try turning off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2)    Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3)    Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4)    If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5)    Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6)    Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under “Start new conversations from:”.

Thanks,
Ryan

I have tried this although it is still showing the I’d number in settings and when I go to editing i5 won’t let me change it on iPhone 8?

Hello @Baker999,

Sorry to hear that.

The issue lies with iMessage and the above steps is what usually fix the issue.

Have you tried turning iMessage off and then messaging?
