I've been with ID for several years. I can use my mobile to ring if I am outside the house, presumably using a ID mobile data connection rather than the home router.However when I use it in the house it says "Not registered on network" or "Out of service area" even through I am sitting a couple of foot from the router. Any idea why this is happening and how I overcome it.

Sounds like the iD mobile signal indoors, at your location, is very weak
Do you have a home Wi-Fi network?
If you do, and your handset supports Wi-Fi Calling, you might be able to use the iD WiFi Calling service for calls and texts at home while indoors.
