My contract ends today and I want to upgrade my phone now. I want to have a £13.99 plan per month on the new alcatel 3l as from today. I'm extremely frustrated that I can't speak to someone in person.

You can upgrade your handset by logging into the iD app/account and clicking My Account > Upgrade
Then find the handset and deal you want and complete your upgrade order.
