Switch from Pay as you Go to Pay Monthly keeping the same number

Hi,

I'm a iD customer, currently with a pay-as-you-go plan. I want to upgrade to a pay monthly plan.
I got a new sim from the iD website, and when they confirmed the order it clearly stated

"Want to keep your number?
If you're upgrading on iD you don't need to do anything to keep your number, we'll take care of it all for you."

Well, I just called Customer Service and apparently that's a lie. They want me to switch to another operator and then back to iD mobile.

They can't switch numbers inside their own company? Unbelievable.

I'll call to delete my new pay monthly SIM and switch operator.

You can keep your number if you are moving to ID from different provider or upgrade from Pay Monthly to Pay Monthly. Unfortunately there is no option to move your number from PAYG to Monthly.
