Hi all,

    All being with ID mobile for more than year, decided to see what’s on offer.

    So to begin with for

    Example: If I’m on 9GB, 300 minutes plan for £10 a month (Line rental)

                     Billing cycle is on every 14th of Month. and on 25th of that month decided to:

   * Upgrade

      To an £10 a month (Line rental) offering 30 GB and Unlimited Minutes

    * Change plan:

      To an £10 a month (Line rental) offering 8 GB and Unlimited Minutes

Questions:

  • What’s the difference here, when it comes to montly charges? As I understand its going to charge differently in both cases in coming months?
  • Which is recommended?
  • Once the upgrade is processed can it be cancelled?
  • Can plan be changed again, if it doesn’t work out?

Thanks.

Hi there @jainvikas8

When you’re referring to upgrades above.  Is there a particular handset you were looking to get on a 24-month contract?

A Plan Change would usually just be when you’re looking to switch to a SIM-only plan or change the SIM-only plan you’re on currently.

If you do an upgrade and don’t like a new phone, you can return it within 14-days to have that cancelled.

With Plan Changes, you have the option to change plan every 30-days technically speaking.

If you need further help, just let us know.

I don't think this was helpful.

The Upgrade option and Change plan are both SIM only monthly deals.

Apparently decided to upgrade and it doesn’t show me those options again…

So, has no one came across this thing in the past in the forum?

That’s very strange.

My only guess is, if you were on one of our older plans, (pre 2017) then you’ll be given the option to upgrade to the new all in one plans maybe?

The plan change being to remain on the legacy plan but change your tariff.

When did you join iD?

If the option has now gone, I’d say sticking to plan change here.

You can plan change on SIM-only plans every 30-days and move freely to a higher or lower plan.

Does that help?

Joined ID in 2019…

The upgrade is always due in September 2020, according to ID Mobile app. I’m not sure about the term… Will update this post with screenshots by end of the month.
