We’re off to the Caribbean next year and visiting the different islands. I’m worried about not having my phone and internet when we’re away to check in with family at home.
does anyone know the charges for Caribbean internet usage or whether I need to buy a new SIM card or something? (Don’t want to do that!) hopefully I will just need to buy additional data from ID?

You can’t buy a roaming add-on from iD Mobile
When you’re anyway, whenever you’ve got access to a free Wi-Fi network, you could use WhatsApp to keep in-touch with your family.

As above, we don’t have roaming add-ons so you would incur charges.
Your best bet is either using WiFi or buying a local SIM.
