temporary suspension of phone contract

I am currently overseas but have not used my UK phone number but am being charged an amount above my monthly rate. Why is this? Additionally, how do I temporarily suspend my phone contract and reactivate it in a few months when I am back in the UK to avoid these extra payments?

Billing

Hi, I used my UK mobile number to call a UK number in Malaysia as I did not realise that that was considered ‘rest of the world roaming’. I have been charged a huge amount. Is it possible to request a refund or partial refund of some sort?
