Do you have to use the new Sim card for an upgrade to SIM only?

Changed plan to SIM only. Already with ID and keeping my old phone. Been sent a new SIM card- do I have to use it?

Hello @StevenJ,

You don’t need the new SIM is the bottom line answer.

Howeever we do recommend activating it to save any problems.

These are automatically sent when upgrading incase you switched to a new phone or upgrading after not using for so long etc.

It’s very easily possible to accidentally activate this in the app/account via a pop-up and lead to all services swapping over.

Worse if you are out and about and even worse if out of the country.

This is why we advise activating it beforehand and then you can just swap over and use it with no worries.
