Unable to receive verification SMS on data only SIM

Hello.

I have purchase a pay monthly data only SIM from ID mobile. I am trying to set up my app and online account. I have added the mobile number associated with the SIM, but I am then asked to enter the verification number sent to the SIM… when it is a data only SIM (which I have no desire to insert into my mobile in any case as I am using it in a router). As a consequence I can’t move onto the next step and set up my account. Can anyone help please?

Hey @Shrew,

You’ll need to pop your SIM into a device capable of receiving SMS messages to set up the iD Mobile app. Once set up, you can pop it back into your router, and you’ll be able to acesss the app without it going forward.

Taking the answer slowly. 

1) Place new ID Sim in my now ex"3" Mifi which was already recognised by my pc from its time with a "three" SIM..

2) Switch on pc.

Then what?  Because the answer above indicates removing the SIM to say a spare mobile and????
