Hi @Amelia Moore

Please try the following;

If iPhone;

1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

If you are having issues with step 4 please reset network settings and try again.

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

If Android;

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.

Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.

Hi, I have a Google Pixel 6 and switched from 02, I now send via the ID Mobile number I do not want, but receive to my old 02 number that I transferred.

I have followed the above instructions and the RSC chats reverts to the new unwanted number each time. The link that you have provided does not allow the disabling of the number as implied, but seems to be in the context of another phone. When I send a code, no code arrives (because I receive to the wanted number).

Using an eSim only. No other sim is in the phone currently.

Please note, I have read other threads on similar porting subjects too.

Hey there @Brianandrews7, welcome to Community!

Sorry to hear that. If the usual RCS setting changes doesn’t work, then you may need a new SIM card.

You can collect a free replacement iD SIM card from any Currys store during opening hours, just simply ask a member of staff for an iD replacment SIM, and they should have them in-stock to give you. Once you have it, you can activate it to your phone number via the link below:

Or, if you want one delivering, you can contact us via our live-chat, and we can send one out via DPD:

Thanks,

Tyler
