I received my a13 phone today, opened the box to charge the phone and find that the lead that comes with it has the same plug both ends of it (the plug will push into the phone) it doesn't have a usb plug on one end of the cable, how do i charge it???

Yeah, that’s standard for USB-C charging cables these days.

You’ll probably need to buy a suitable charger, or get a USB-A to USB-C adapter.
Mobile phone manufacturers are not allowed to package a phone charger with a phone.
Too many transformers ending up in landfill.

You’ll need to purchase a new plug that has a USBC slot.
There are options that also have USBA and USBC slots that might be better suited so you can have a multi use charger.
