If I order a new sim that is pay monthly now can I put it in my phone and activate in July or is there a time limit in which I need to do this?

All SIM cards are active at the point of shipping. So, if you ordered today then the SIM would be shipped tomorrow (active) and your billing will start from tomorrow.
