I’d image as long as you continue to pay for the handset, for the duration of the your contract, you can use the iD SIM in any device.

What do your contract’s terms & conditions say about ownership of the handset?

As @andewhite mentioned, as long as the contract is paid off, there should be no issues as it would be yours to keep once paid.
