charged £7.86 for nothing!

Hi I cancelled my contract within the 14/ 28 days cancellation period and had never opened the SIM or the phone why was I charged £7.86?

Because the iD Mobile terms & conditions have a clause stating you’ll be charged for services from the date the activated (ready-to-use) iD SIM card is dispatched, until cancellation.

The terms state charges apply whether or not the iD SIM card is ever used for network services.

As @andewhite mentioned above, iD Mobile activates their SIM’s at the point of dispatch. So, you are billed from that point in time right up until the day you cancel. It doesn’t matter if you use the service or not.
