Charged more for an upgrade than if i were buying a new contract

I've just upgraded my phone contract to a Google Pixel 7a with unlimited data, however I now find, after looking on ID's website, that I've been charged £2 a month more and with an up front fee of £20 rather than if taken out the same contract as a new customer.

If I were to have taken the same deal as a new customer the up front cost would have been £9.

Strange way to encourage existing customers to stay with you by charging more for the same contract.

Upgrades are always more expensive…

After all, you would have had your own new customer deal when you originally signed up, now it’s someone else’s turn. Sadly, that’s how ALL the networks see things! 👀

Hi @Mrfgsuperman

As @WelshPaul suggests this is standard, new customer deals and upgrades tend to be different, should you not find the deal you’re happy with we’d recommend contacting the sales team on 0207 1391 397.
