Data leak of customer numbers?

Hi, recently ported my number to IDmobile after a decade with Tesco Mobile. Probably got less than 1 spam call a year with Tesco. Since porting to ID I'm getting a call from an Indian call centre asking what phone I have and what contract I'm on every single day.

Is this a common experience with ID?

Do they have a known problem with leaking lists of customer numbers to these spam calling call centres?

As iD Mobile use the Three network, and Three ‘outsource’ most user help & support to Asia, there might be a connection?

Maybe O2 have better network controls in place for blocking known overseas hustlers & scammers?

Have you registered your number with the TPS?

Good point, yeah registered with TPS ages ago but probably worth doing it again anyway. Thanks for reminding me!

Hello @GtB,

We don’t sell any information to third parties. Whilst it does seem co-incidential, I couldn’t give you an answer on how the number was obtained besides general advice to keep your details afe.

Registering to the TPS should stop unwanted calls but these scammers do change numbers regularly to avoid this.
