keeping my old number

I gave my pac to someone on live chat yesterday and gave my details, they ensured me my new phone number would change to my old one. I explained that I need the number for work, so I was using my old sim until the number change takes place. I got a text from my old provider on my old sim that the service was being cancelled and the live chat told me when that happens I can put my new id mobile SIM card into my phone and the number should update to my old number, well now my id mobile sim is showing my new number wnd need to know how long before it’s changed

Please allow until 10pm on the port date for the port to complete.

If the port was due today I would advise restarting the handset after 10pm to see if it’s ported over.

You may need to update the number for iMessage and Facetime.
