unable to send and receive SMS messages


Hi, 

 

I recently switched to iD and kept my old number. When I try to sent a text message it says ‘not delivered’, but sometimes it does actually go through, but as it says not delivered I don’t know when it does send. I’m receiving some SMS messages, but some also aren’t coming through on WhatsApp despite the changeover being fine.

For immediate help with this from iD customer service, contact an agent via their Live Chat service, who’ll then be able to assist you.

You can also get help by privately messaging iD using facebook or Twitter.

The iD agents normally work from 9am to 6pm - outside this time period, it’s just their chat-bot.

Hi @Becky Barwell, if you’re using an iPhone, try this:

 

  • 1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
  • 2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
  • 3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
  • 4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
  • 5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages) 6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

 

If you’re using using an Android device, try this:

  • On your device, open Messages
  • At the top right, tap Settings
  • Tap Chat features
  • Toggle 'Enable chat features' to OFF.
  • Turn the phone off, wait 15 minutes, then power the phone back on
  • Try to send a message again.
  • Now toggle ‘Enable chat features’ to ON and see if everything’s working
