Hi I have just moved to IdMobile a few days ago. I was out today and all my friends had a 5g network but my iPhone 14 showed 4g. I always got a 5g signed with EE. Anyone any idea why I can’t get 5g in Belfast city centre when everyone else on other networks can? Disappointing.

Hi @paul.mccarrison,

In order for 5G to work you would need to be in a 5G area and be using a 5G approved handset.

You can check if we offer 5G at the location via the link below:

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/coverage#coverage-info

To check if you handset is 5G approved with iD Mobile please click HERE

The coverage checker, which is only showing the output of a computer model, shows most of Belfast has a good outdoor 5G signal on the iD Mobile network, but iD’s indoor coverage appears limited according to the coverage model.

If you’re in the cooling off period, why not just return your order items and switch back to EE?

Why iD Mobile?
