Switching to ID Mobile While Aborad

I’m currently abroad but would like to port my UK O2 number to IDMobile.  I’m sick and tired of paying their exhorbitant prices!

My sim is active, is this possible while I’m out of the UK?

Also, I assume I do not need a new SIM card?

No it’s not possible...

  1. You will require a new SIM which will only be sent to a UK address
  2. Activation of a new SIM usually requires said SIM be “talking” to the network via a mast within the UK

Unless you can get your SIM back to the UK, get someone else to receive your SIM, process the port and send it back out but I would assume you are not abroad for that long to make it worth it
