If you have inserted your iD Mobile SIM card but your phone shows an error like "SIM Not Supported", "Network Locked", or asks for an unlock code, your device is likely locked to your previous network.
Please note: All phones sold by iD Mobile are unlocked.
How to check if your phone is locked.
The quickest test is to insert a SIM card from a different network provider. If you can make calls or send texts, your phone is unlocked.
You can also check in your settings:
I’m using an iPhone:
- Go to Settings > General > About.
- Scroll down to Network Provider Lock.
- If it says No SIM restrictions, your phone is unlocked. If it shows a network name, it is locked.
I’m using an Android phone:
Settings vary by manufacturer, but you can usually check by trying to manually select a network:
- Go to Settings > Connections (or Network & Internet).
- Tap Mobile Networks > Network Operators.
- Turn off Select automatically.
- If you can see a list of other networks (like EE, Vodafone, O2), your phone is likely unlocked. If the menu is hidden or you get an error, it may be locked.
What is a NUC?
A NUC (Network Unlock Code) is a code that removes the lock placed on your phone by a network provider. You must enter this code to allow your phone to accept SIM cards from other networks.
Note: This is different from a PUK code, which is used to unblock a specific SIM card.
How do I get a NUC?
iD Mobile cannot unlock a phone that is locked to another network. You must contact the network provider that locked the device.
You can usually request a code for free via their websites:
