Open Data Policy

I was liking a lot of what I was learning about iD Mobile, but I must admit the Open Data Policy has put me right off. It's not very straightforward, and if I went ahead and switched to iD, I would just be worried that I was going to end up in a situation (on holiday abroad) where I'm either getting stung an extortionate amount per MB, or would have to stop using data until I get back from holiday. And presumably that additional amount is classed as a 'penalty' and therefore the capping offers no protection whatsoever? I appreciate you'll send a text (two texts) when the allowable amount is nearly used up, but still -- I don't want to be on holiday and learn that actually I can't use any more data without paying through the nose. I've read elsewhere on the site that rolled-over data gets used first. So, if I had 300MB rolled over from the previous month, does that mean I can safely use that 300MB (abroad) *plus* the 2.05GB allowance, without fear of getting stung by the penalty, or

Trying tonswitch my old mobile number over

I have entered my PAC code on 2 separate pages and it pops up that this pac request has been submitted however this was 3 days ago and I have not received any confirmation that my old number has been transferred at all. I have 1 day left of data on my old number so I need this done ASAP. The guidance states I would receive a confirmation text message within 24 hours. I’m now feeling very frustrated from a new customer point of view. Has it/is it being done or not???!

Upgrading my plan

Hi, I’m already an ID customer with a rolling monthly SIM only contract.I want to change my plan and go with your offer of £6 per month rolling monthly contract for 5GB but it seems I can only do this by buying a new SIM. Is there a way I can do this through here or on the APP to save having a new SIM card sent to me as this offer is not showing on the ‘Choose a new plan’ page on the APP. Thanks

Android Upgrade

I am currently using a Sony xperia XA2 and have had no problems with it until I managed to break it. I am looking to upgrade in the £23.99 Price range. I have been considering the Samsung galaxy A71 or the oppo reno 2z. I've done a bit of research on both and still cant decide between the two or to look at something completely different. If anyone owns one of these phones and could help figure which one to go for it would be greatly appreciated.

London Underground WiFi

Is ID Mobile planning to provide customers free access to London Underground WiFi any time soon? It would make sense as it uses the Three network which offers free access to all its customers.

mobile parking

So looking at a PAYG from ID mobile to essentially park a mobile number, as have a company provided SIM.  would like to receive and then network divert calls to my staff mobile. So every time I get a call on this number I’ll be paying 3p a minute cause of the divert? As I understand a ten quid top up will give me 333 minutes across 365 days?The other thing to be mindful of is that I do need activity on the SIM within a 90 day period, like a outbound call or text. If I have a balance at end of 364 days then this will be refreshed as long as I put in another ten quid? So assuming I have very low inbound usage I can essentially park my number for ten quid a year?

Google Maps and SatNav, which is better?

Something else that Google Maps can do is send anonymous info about speed and location to build up a ‘live traffic map’. This helps give more accurate predictions for traffic and journey time. It doesn’t just apply to driving, either. You can also use it when you’re cycling or walking, so long as you choose that option on Maps.I think that having a sat nav in the car is handy for times when your phone battery is low or you can’t get a signal. Overall though, Google Maps works just as well as a sat nav and has the added bonus of automatic updates.

4g roaming in the EU

A review of networks by website simsherpa.com in Feb 2020 Said that the drawback of idmobile versus three was that roaming in the EU was only 3g. Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the case

Trade In Payment not received

Hi, l sent off my phone to Carphone Warehouse/Currys in Dec, for Trade in, phone was received but l haven’t received the £250. I have called numerous numbers and times to resolve this but keep getting referred back to ID Mobile Live Chat (Bot is useless) I can’t contact ID Mobile by phone and am literally going round in circles. Currys refuse to send my handset back so where do l go from here?

Restricted for a low amount

My phone service has been restricted for a non payment of £18.03 + £3.87, I normally pay on time or early, I always pay more than my bill comes too so I end up in credit. I'm due to pay £25 on 20th August, my account is currently 2 days behind. Would it be possible to have my services re-instated as I need to use my phone for emergencies since I am disabled and need to use the phone to book appointments and keep in touch with family should I fall.

Ushining

  Does an iD SIM card work in a new Ushining 3G flip phone?   I have just bought a Ushining 3G phone for occasional use, and an iD Sim card for pay and go.  I thought I had installed the card correctly,  but when I try to make a phone call the message appears “Please insert SIM”.
