Message not sent; service not activated on network

I have created a group to send a ‘group’ SMS message, but I get the following error: “Message not sent; service not activated on network”

Options in message settings on phone are greyed out and inaccessible.

Have tried resetting network connections. Tried all the on-off-on and SIM card out etc, but no joy.

    iD Mobile probably don’t support the carrier features needed for ‘standard’ group SMS messaging to work on the Three UK mobile network @Kieren

    You might be able to accomplish something similar using the RCS chat features in the Google Messages app.

    Google’s https://support.google.com/messages/answer/9487020?hl=en-GB topic might have some pointers.
