I have created a group to send a ‘group’ SMS message, but I get the following error: “Message not sent; service not activated on network”
Options in message settings on phone are greyed out and inaccessible.
Have tried resetting network connections. Tried all the on-off-on and SIM card out etc, but no joy.

iD Mobile probably don’t support the carrier features needed for ‘standard’ group SMS messaging to work on the Three UK mobile network
You might be able to accomplish something similar using the RCS chat features in the Google Messages app.
Google’s https://support.google.com/messages/answer/9487020?hl=en-GB topic might have some pointers.
