I recently moved over onto ID from Vodafone, and used transferred my old number onto the sim. It seemed to have worked but a few days later, my friends and family were receiving messages from my ICloud account. I looked into and and Google told me to change it in the ‘phone’ settings. When I try and input my old number it won’t save and reverts back to the new ID number. Can anyone help it’s extremely frustrating.

Okay @Sam_narramore - first thing to try is a Network Reset

Good luck.

Hi @Sam_narramore

We’d recommend the following;

1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

If you are having issues with the above please retry with flight mode enabled and/or the SIM card removed.

We’d also recommend checking the number linked to your Apple/iCloud account directly with them to ensure the number is the correct one.
