Delay in recipient receiving text messages

When I send a text and the recipient has their phone switched off it is sometimes taking several hours after their phone is switched back on for the message to arrive

Hey there ​@wendy68, sorry to hear that.

 

I would advise that the person who has their phone switched off contacts their network supplier or phone manufacturer, as likely an issue with their device etc, not yours.
