What to do if your new SIM isn’t working.

Your iD Mobile SIM card should work regardless of your number being ported over @Carriem.  All iD Mobile SIMS are supposed to be sent out active (with a temporary number). However, if your number was due to port over today then it’s possible that the port is in the process of completing. It can take up until 10pm to complete.

I have a ID Mobile sim with unlimited data. Arrived today & successfully activated it in an iPhone.

I want to use it in a Vodafone r219z mobile wi-fi device. But when I insert it & log in it says “no sim or invalid sim”

I assume the r219z is unlocked because it recognises a Lebara sim.

Does anyone know if it should work?

I was advised that it was complete, but I should wait.

If its complete, I'm assuming there's an issue?

I'll wait until tomorrow and then I need to sort a new sim card. 

 

I just received my new SIM but it is not working!  I used my PAC Code so switched to ID and now I have nothing at all!!  I’ve done the airplane mode thing and tried in another mobile (this also has an ID sim) but no service in that phone.

Urgently need my phone!!  What do you suggest?  I can’t get onto live chat on my mobile because I can’t get a code that you keep trying to send!!!

HELP!!!!

I received my new SIM card today but it isn’t working. Tried troubleshooting methods. My phone is unlocked, I have tried the SIM card in another phone, also not working. Please help.

If it’s not working by now, then the SIM is probably faulty. Either way, there isn’t anything you can do until tomorrow. The quickest way to obtain a replacement SIM would be to pop into your local Curry’s store and ask for a free replacement.

I have just got a new pixel 6 and I am getting no service (Just an exclamation mark in the signal strength triangle). I know the network signal is ok as I was on smarty which also use 3 and that works.

Have you updated the phones firmware? I believe they pushed an update that fixed the issue.

yeah I have done all the updates on the phone

I have also put the sum in my old phone and it still does not work

Is it a replacement SIM or new SIM for a new contract?

If it’s a replacement it will need to be activated first.

If it’s a SIM for a new contract it may be faulty SIM so a new one may be required.

We can get one sent out or you can collect one from Curry’s.

If you receive a new SIM card from us and it doesn’t seem to be working, we recommend you check a couple of important things first:
 

1. Check your coverage


Use our handy online coverage checker to find out the signal strength in your area. You can search by postcode - so you can check all the places you usually use your phone, like your home and work addresses. And you can view both 3G and 4G coverage.

2. Are you using a compatible handset?


If your handset isn’t approved/compatible with iD Mobile, your ability to use our services may be affected. Click here to view our list of approved and compatible handsets.

All the handsets we provide with an iD Mobile plan are compatible with our network, as you’d expect. So if you’ve got one of those you should be fine.

If you purchased a SIM only iD plan and are using an iD compatible handset you bought elsewhere with it, you should also be fine!

 

 

 

 

Tried the above and it’s still not working?


If you've tried the above and your SIM still doesn’t appear to be working, follow these troubleshooting steps.

 

 

  • Put your phone into flight mode, leave it for 30 seconds, and then disable flight mode.
  • Check that the SIM card is inserted correctly.
  • Restart your device.
  • Turn off your device, remove your SIM, and clean it using a micro-fibre cloth. Then re-insert it and try again.
  • Try the SIM card in another 'iD compatible handset', and test the connection in a few locations to see if the SIM connects. If you don’t experience any issues with the other handset, your original phone may be at fault.

I've received my new SIM today and it's asking for an unlock code when I insert it. My phone is unlocked. I've tried all your troubleshooting hints but nothing is working. There was no paperwork with the sim so I don't know the number.  Help! :) 

Hi, I have tried all the advice on flight mode turning off, check imei, check coverage, you name it, still getting apple not recognised.  I have been at this hours, BTW its an old apple 6s that  is on the compatible.  HELP PLEASE

I’ve just got a new sim from ID Mobile but when I put it in, it says No Sim. I’ve restarted my iPhone 13 several times as well as take out the SIM card several times. Any advice would be great.

Then do what was suggested in the posts above and obtain a replacement SIM. You can pick one up from your local Curry’s store at no cost or speak to a live chat agent tomorrow and request one be sent out to you.

Hi, can anyone help me please, I have recently joined Id mobile from O2, I sent my pac code to id and asked for a start date of April 2nd 2024, received sim, put it in my iPhone 11 Pro but did not work. It also doesn’t work in my husbands compatible handset but his sim works in mine. I’ve tried all the suggestions like restart phone etc but nothing and in settings under phone it says No Sim?

Any other suggestions please.

Hi, I have received a new pay monthly Galaxy A54 with new iD SIM. When I put the SIM in I get "No SIM, No Service". I have tried my old iD SIM in the A54 and this is recognised by the phone. Trying the new SIM in my old phone, I get the same issues.

 

Can you please advise on how I can get the new SIM to work?

Hi there, my daughter is struggling to make her new sim work in her iphone 12. We’ve tried all the recommended fixes but no luck. Any suggestions? It just says ‘sim failed’

Hi, I received a new Galaxy S22 from Mobiles.co.uk. I haven’t been given an ID Mobile number, nor is it printed anywhere on the sim card envelope. When inserted into the phone (or my old phone) the sim card shows as “Unknown”. If I try to make a call, a message pops up on the screen to say that the sim card isn’t registered. I can’t register with ID as I don’t know the phone number. 

I tried the ‘Live Chat’ but just ended up going around in circles with a bot. What can I try next?

For the record, I have tried all of the troubleshooting tips above to no avail.
