Question

Using iD sim in ipad and NHS covid app

I have just bought a new ipad mini which takes a sim card.

I have put my existing iD sim card in and can access the internet etc.

I cannot install the NHS covid app as it says my device is not compatible. Anyone any idea why? This was one of the reasons I bought it!

Also to make video calls do I need to install a new app? Facetime option for video is greyed out.

The user of this ipad will not have a separate phone.

Check compatible devices for app. Ipad is included in that list. Make sure you have iOS version of app.

If I go to the app store on the ipad when I choose the NHS covid-19 app it say “Not compatible with this device” and does not give an option to install. As far as I know the App Store only shows iOS apps. Also I can’t see an ipad-specific version. The ipad is on software version 14.0.1. Model name is ipad mini (5th generation).

Hello @bob41,

Have you tried contacting the producer of the App to see if they have a compatible version?

I’m not sure if there is one made for the iPad.

I believe also the app uses location services.
