Replacement SIM activated.. then stopped working

Thanks @andewhite. Unfortunately the live chat was not helpful. I tried contacting several times, each time there was a separate issue with the SIM and the issue looked increasingly unlikely to be resolved. I decided to cancel my contract and go with a cheaper one. A shame because the service has been 99% perfect up until now. Maybe I’ll come back but it seems like there are some technical issues at the moment and I really need a reliable SIM lol.  Okay @Planetx, thanks for the update.Curious to know which new service provider you’ve chosen? - TIA.

Thank you. Yeah I have done that, it says 'We're working on fixing an issue in this area at the moment. We're sorry for any disruption this may be causing'. Just wondering what's wrong and how long it's going to take.... Good luck getting any answers, @Laura M.Perhaps best you can hope for is some credit, to your iD account, for any service disruption. This won’t happen though, unless you report issue and ask for compensation.

Have you tried the iD online Live Chat service, @sundus.h?Just tell the 24/7 iD chatbot you’d like to “talk to a person”, so you get through to an adviser. The advisers work until 8pm on weekdays.

Thanks for that.  However my iPhone was on a corporate account and I believe I had no control over it Have you tried Apple’s online self-service to unlink your mobile number from your ‘old’ corporate iPhone, @EACPD02? Do this online at https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/.Scroll down for option called “No longer have your iPhone?”.

I’d have thought eSIM activation should happen pretty much straight away, @ha5him. Have you restarted your handset?Are you in an area with good indoor & outdoor signal reception?Have you used the iD online Live Chat service, and spoken to the iD support team?

Why do I show full 5G but very poor signal?

Signal reception shown by the vertical bars icon, and the data capability of the network connection, shown as 3G, 4G, 5G, etcetera, label indicate different things, @cainuk.Having a 4G capable data connection doesn’t mean you’re you’re able to achieve the maximum bandwidth available for that network connection.Is your handset on the iD Mobile approved handset list, @cainuk?Check online at https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/approved-handsets.

Okay @cainuk, the iD online coverage checker only shows a prediction of coverage based on computer models, so at any given location reception might be better or worse than predicted online.The https://mastdata.com website has actual real-world coverage for many locations in the UK. Also, have you checked for network faults / issues at your location?You can do this online at https://www.three.co.uk/support/network-and-coverage.My home is in a mobile not-spot, so I use WiFi Calling on my iPhone 13 to call and text.

Is your handset eSIM compatible, @K6vsy837? Dial *#06# on your handset to check if your phone is eSIM compatible - if you see a screen displayed that includes an EID number, your device is eSIM compatible.

Hello yes I paid my bill but I still can't use my services  Unfortunately @Louise Archer, sometimes takes up to 24-hours before late payment register on the iD systems. Sometimes restarting your handset can help.

Have you tried speaking to the iD sales team about your upgrade options, @laura.111118? Contact sales on 020 7139 1397 - the advisers work 9am - 6pm. Currently, the new iD app and “My iD Account” online applications seem to be somewhat unreliable. Issues with these applications have been apparent for several weeks or more.

But am I able to pause my contact with ID so do this so I’m not having to pay 2 phone bills?  Unfortunately you cannot pause an iD Mobile pay monthly contract, @Soph Goldstein.

Okay @Lauren Smyth, quickest way to submit your PAC will be to contact iD support. Use their online Live Chat service to speak to an adviser - the advisers work until 8pm weekdays.Their online chatbot works 24/7 - for an adviser, tell the chatbot you want to “talk to a person”.

I’m sorry too, the service has been top notch up until now. In addition I had to use the live chat several times and have had to spend ages haggling with live chat people to get anywhere, very time-consuming! I’d still recommend the service but that live chat is not much fun to use.  Sadly, it seems more often than not, iD Live Chat ‘sucks’, @Planetx. Luckily I discovered using Facebook Messenger or X (formerly Twitter) to privately message iD for support was much more effective.
