Upgrade Query - What happens if I don't use my new SIM?

I’ve just updated my iPhone 8 to an 11. If I don’t put my new SIM card in my new phone until Christmas, will I be paying two separate contacts until then?

Hello @Amber21,

 

Providing you upgraded your contract, then when you log into your iD account, the new plan should have switched over. You’ll only be paying for 1 contract in this case. 

 

If however, you purchased a brand new contract instead of upgrading the account, then you’ll be billed for 2.

Just log-into your iD app/account to confirm the plan has updated, then you’ll know you’ve upgraded correctly, in which case, you can activate the new SIM whenever.
