Could be an issue if you’re using an iD SIM card obtained years ago, @Ken Wicker. Have you tried using a replacement iD SIM card?

Not receiving OTP abroad

The missing + shouldn’t be an issue, @Ian1951. If the OTP texts from your bank work when you’re using your iD SIM card in the UK, there might be a network routing issue while using your iD SIM card in Turkey. The iD roaming partners in Turkey are AVEA and Turkcell - does the bank OTP issue happen with both networks? . .

Perhaps pop your phone in flight mode, and use some free local Wi-Fi networks while over in Antigua and Barbuda.

Live Chat not working NO WAY TO CONTACT ID

Perhaps your iD account has been blocked or suspended for some reason, @joe norman. When Live Chat doesn’t seem to work, sometimes the following helps: Allowing popup windows in your web browser Using a different web browser Using an incognito / in-private window in your web browserThe iD Mobile chatbot works 24/7, and the advisers work until 8pm on weekdays.

In my recent trips overseas, I’ve noticed local SIM cards are available to purchase in the arrivals hall at overseas airports.Although on my trips abroad, I’ve used a data-only eSIM plan for roaming mobile data, which has worked well for me.

Unfortunately, you can’t check your mobile data usage from your iD account during a billing period, @Susan McCarthy. You can check mobile data usage on your phone though. Most iD plans have a 30GB/month roaming mobile data allowance for France.

Error 38 when replying to a text (shortcode)

I'm having the exact same issue when trying to reply to 60118 (BT), and have checked and reset my settings The earlier posts appear to reference short-code 61998, @TheDJHut. These short-codes might not be supported on the iD Mobile network, perhaps because iD Mobile aren’t members of the UK “Shortcode Management Group” (SCMG).

Switching Issue

Odd messages may still go to your old phone, if they’re sent (to you) using iMessage or Google RCS protocol, and your old phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network. The protocol used depends on make and model of your old phone, @Beed.

Might not be possible currently, @Nico Kearns. Online iD eSIM help & support articles don’t seem to cover this process, merely how to change from an eSIM to physical SIM card.

Legal Action over refund

The small claims court might be the least expensive option, @JosephK. Not sure going legal will speed up recovery of the credit amount you’re due though.Normally, like most other UK pay monthly mobile service providers, any credit due is returned via the direct debit you used for your iD account, the next billing cycle after account closure.

App update required?

The iD app should just reflect the number you wanted to keep, once the switch from your old provider to iD Mobile has happened, @Scott_lov. It can sometimes take a day or two before the self-service iD app and “My iD Account” online applications show the ported number.

Given you might’ve been using the same iD PAYG account for 10-years, have you ever received a replacement iD SIM card during this time, @Ian1951? It could be an issue with your iD SIM card. You should not be charged for just connecting to the mobile network of one of iD Mobile’s roaming partners, @Ian1951.

very bad signal( i feel scammed)

Pretty much in the same boat. Image shows pre order coverage in my locality but rarely hit 1 bar, if I'm lucky. New S24 Ultra, Unlimited, but such poor network coverage. Unfortunately, the online coverage checker only shows a theoretical prediction of the mobile signal expected at that location, @OAKUK59. The actual signal might be better or worse than forecast by the iD coverage checker. Like other providers, the iD Mobile coverage checker has a caveat in the small-print: The https://mastdata.com online site has real-world reception for many locations in the UK.

Totally agree, and I do get much better signal away from home in general. However, there is a huge difference between “theoretical prediction” & Gross over promising 🤣 Perhaps the iD WiFi Calling service could be an alternative for indoors at home, @OAKUK59 - assuming you’ve got a home Wi-Fi network.

Do you both bank with the same company, @Ian1951? Perhaps there’s an issue with the SMS bulk aggregator your bank use to get an SMS from their banking systems, to your mobile device.
