debt collection letter

Today I've received a debt letter for £648 for a 13 day contract. The contract was cancelled due to no service at all and not being able to connect to WiFi. Just chatted to so called customer service who tell me the bill was generated because I ported the number first then cancelled the contract, I did this because this is what car phone  warehouse told me to do, id customer service tell me I should have cancelled the contract then ported the number.

Who's right? She says there's nothing she can do as by porting the number first this has generated the bill. I'm not paying £648 for a 14 day contract that was cancelled through no fault of my own.

Morning @Su99,

I’ve escalated this to the relevant team. I’ll get back to you here once I hear back from them. Don’t worry.. if you cancelled within the cooling off period as stated, the debt will be wiped.

Thanks.
