If I order a new phone from ID can my contract start when my current contract finishes on the 15/03/24. As if I switch now I will have to pay a cancellation fee. Of should I only request a new phone after my current contact finishes.

The start date of your iD contract would be the date iD Mobile dispatch your order items,
You could ask the iD telephone sales team if you can delay the date your order is dispatched - just call sales on 020 7139 1397.

Unfortunately we are unable to select a specific date for dispatch.
Once you place the order before the delivery cut off it is sent via next day delivery.
You can look at placing the order the day before your contract finishes so you receive it on the end date.
