app says i have used more data than my phone says

My mobile data is set to 100GB, I have never normally used more than 30GB in a month and the app says I have used 197 this month. Within the first week of my data being refreshed, however, when I look on my phone settings under mobile data, it says I have used 60GB in total across the whole time of me having my phone. I am unsure how to query this but I wholeheartedly believe I have not managed to use up my data and MORE within the first week on usage. Any ideas how I can get this properly investigated?

When you open the app does the data remaining section state this?

197GB/100GB (the 197 is in black and the 100GB is in green)

If so it means you must have carried over 97GB from last month.

The first part is how much you have left and the 2nd part is your data allowance

My account says much the same. Didn't recall being told I could carry over data. And have to say I never noticed it before now. It's a pleasant surprise though as I use Amazon Music a lot when I'm out in my car.
