Ok so the time has come for my son to pay for his own contract phone at present it is under my name but he would like to open a new account in his name but also keep his number how can I achieve this?

It’s a bit of a faff as you can’t yet port numbers from iD to iD. So what you need to do is PAC his number to another provider (a free PAYG would do), then leave the number over there for 24 hours. Then he can open a new iD account and he can PAC his number to iD
