Question

Do any real people work for iD Mobile??

I really could do with speaking to a person about two upgrades which I arranged one week ago, which has seemed to have gone completely wrong. It seems that within a week I have racked up £75.00 of data charges ( I have a 2GB allowance on the new contract), when my data usage has not changed from when I had the old contract (which had 500MB of data usage)! I need to get this sorted today and it would be sooooooooo much easier if I could discuss it with a person and not faff around with ‘Live Chat’!  It seems that when I selected the option to go elsewhere for my mobile phone, magically I got through to a human being. Now that I have a real problem, The phone number that I have, directs me back to ‘Live Chat’. I truly believe that this could be sorted within minutes, by speaking to someone, yet it has so far taken me days and a wasted journey into my local Carphone Warehouse branch.

Hello @sare0373,

I’m sorry to hear that, we can help with this.

Bills are charged with line rental the month in advance, but usage for the month prior.

Have you checked the dates on your bill to see which period the additional charge is for?

This will likely be for usage prior to you upgrading to your new tariff.

We also send texts when 80% and 100% of data usage have been reached.

Have you checked the dates of these texts?

Thank you for your reply. I have never had a bill this high before though, ever. For the last 6 months the max bill was £19.51. Yet on 2nd October - one week after upgrading,  I used 796 MB (over my 2 GB allowance) costing me £74.69. How is this possible? it makes no sense at all and is STRESSING ME OUT!!

Hi @sare0373,

How much was your old tariff, and how much is your new tariff? This may be a case of prorated billing.
