Very poor data and signal

I understand you get these posts all the time but ive been through previous posts and cannot seem to find an answer for this, my signal strength is at one bar and my data is none existent since being on i.d mobile rolling month contract for a few months now,I know the postcode checker is estimated only but really? Ive included what I was shown on the area checker today and an average speed test, taken with a Poco X3 pro with no previous problems on my last network "Vodafone", any help would be very much appreciated

Hey there @bRaDz, thank you for confirming. If you’ve been offered a free replacement SIM card, this is a usual troubleshooting method we try to see if the issue is SIM, handset or coverage related, and can either resolve the issue, or help us understand further.

 

I’d definitely recommend trying the free replacement SIM card to see if that helps, and if not, we can investigate further with yourself.

I had something similar visiting Whitby recently.

The coverage checker showed…

“4G Coverage

Yes – Excellent service
Great news - 4G is in your area. If your device is 4G calling compatible, you'll have excellent 4G coverage for calls, texts, and mobile internet.”

But the service checker showed…

“There is, at times, heavy usage in this local area. As a result, you may experience varying data speeds depending on how many customers are connecting to our network via your closest mast.

We’re always working to improve our network and aim to provide the best experience possible.”

So it looks like the Three network is crumbling!

Hi @bRaDz, if you haven’t already, it may also be worthwhile checking for any outages in your local area that could be contributing to the coverage levels.

Hi  Lauren 

The network coverage says there are ongoing repairs while a live chat advisor tells me there isn't, it was working fine for the first month before degrading to what it is now, as nobody knows I will give it another week and see if it picks up, if not I will have to move, I use the mobile for my business you see..

Hey there @bRaDz, thank you for confirming.

 

The status checker is updated every 30-minutes, so it could be that the general issue was resolved in-between the times you originally checked it.

 

Are you still having issues currently, and does it say work is on-going still, or not?

Hello Tyler

Although the status checker is showing no work being undertaken my fault remains the same, very poor signal, data is none existent.

The SIM is the same in another phone, I was offered another SIM to try but as this is only 3 months old I cannot see it as the fault as the signal changes in different locations

Just to put this to bed a new sim was installed with no change to my problem, very poor signal and no data regardless of what the signal checker implies, provider was changed to talkmobile on Vodafone with no problems with either signal or data.

My signal and data speeds aren't great in my area either the network seems very congested particularly in the evening as confirmed by three's service status get alright speeds early in the morning and good signal. The poor signal and speed is also here about 2mbs a sec from about 6pm

So in other words neither ID mobile nor 3 network GAF and both are praying existing customer base too lazy / too unsophisticated to move?

Just wondering if it’s worth staying with you. Why am I very rarely getting even 4mps here around Staines Upon Thames? Many occasions hovering around 1mps. Adequate signal and shows 4G next to bars. Are you aware of this flat spot? 
 

Am also seeing upload speeds faster than download speeds. To my mind that is provider throttling. Here is result from few minutes ago.

My signal strength is very poor since moving to idmobile. My wife is also with idmobile and her signal is also very poor. Never again will I be going to idmobile.

Have now left ID Mobile. You get what you pay for. ID Mobile cheap but there is a good reason! I think they know many will take forever to call it quits and leave, so they have your revenue in meanwhile. Impression is 3 is a failing network and Hutchison Hong Kong who own it don’t care. GET OUT!

IT'S NOT THE SIGNAL THAT IS THE PROBLEM. 4G IS RECEIVED. IT IS THE CONJESTION TOO MANY USERS USING IT ie 3, smarty, I'd all sucking MINIMAL OUTPUT. I even bought signal booster which works great BUT data is throttled by CONJESTION..... keeps dropping under 2mbs... NOT HAPPY ... 4 DEVICES IN HOUSEHOLD = PAYING WELL OVER 100£ A MONTH AND CANT EVEN WATCH REELS OR TIKTOK UNTIL DAFT OCLOCK.... NEVER MIND STREAMING TV, LIKE I COULD A MONTH AGO....... IS THIS BECAUSE THEY TURNED 3G OFF MEANING  ALL DEVICES NOW SUCKING THE POOP OUT OF THE 4G ?? 

ONE OF MY 4 CAN'T WORK FROM HOME ANYMORE BECAUSE OF THIS ... HAVING TO TRAVEL TO HMRC OVER AN HOUR SOMETIMES OVER 2 THERE AND SAME TO BACK,,, AT AN WHAT USED TO BE AN UNNECESSARY COST !!! 

YOUS ARE RUINING LIVES OF MANY.
