i am due to switch to my new ID mobile SIM with my old number from a previous contract. how can i confirm that my old number is on the IDMobil SIM. I ask as when i tried to log into the ID Mobil app it doesn't recognise the old number 

Is seems better to wait a few days, after switching your old number over to the iD network, before attempting to register for your “My iD Account”, @Mike Allen.

Perhaps try a day or two after your switch completes.
