New contract supplied instead of an upgrade

I applied for an upgrade to my existing 4Gb per month sim only contract to a 8 Gb per month contract that was the same price. (This offer was in the ID newsletter on 01/07/24). I was sent a new sim and an email today (11/07/24) but this was for a contract with a new number. I can’t find a way to get this problem resolved or to cancel this new contract.

Maybe use iD online Live Chat, and get a returns authorisation for your unwanted iD order, @Les Jones.

Return the order in the new contract cooling off period.

Thanks andewhite.  I managed to cancel  the new contract that they sold me instead of the upgrade.
I will not attempt to take advantage of upgrade offers in future as sorting out problems is so difficult with ID mobile.

Hi @Les Jones,

Welcome to the Community!

Sorry to hear about the issues that you have experienced.

Upgrading allows you to keep the same number with us but you can start a new contract and cancel the old one if you wish to do so.
