I’ve just ordered a new phone on a new contract with ID mobile. Is a process of switching to my old number, the same as if I was coming from another network?

No, you cannot move your old iD Mobile number over to your new iD Mobile account.

You have to options to choose from…

  1. Cancel the new line using the cooling off period and upgrade your existing line.
  2. Port out your old number to another network and then port it back to iD Mobile.

Would option 2 just be a case of buying a cheap pay as you go sim, moving the number to that and then moving it to my new ID sim?

Hey there @Wardben95, thank you for reaching out.

As kindly advised by @WelshPaul, you’d need to complete a triangle port, where you transfer your number to another network via PAC code, then do the reverse back to us to the new contract.

You can purchase a cheap Pay As You Go with the other network, that’d be completely fine.

Thanks,

Tyler
